Every launch starts with a countdown.
Mine ends at Baikonur in 2050.

When the lease ends, Kazakhstan will need its own engineers, scientists and space programme to take it over. I’m studying for that day, and this site records every step of the way.
Read my mission planThis is my country. The sky blue stands for the sky above us and for peace; the sun has 32 rays, a steppe eagle spreads its wings beneath it, and a Kazakh ram’s-horn pattern runs along the hoist.

Designed by the artist Shaken Niyazbekov and adopted on 4 June 1992. The sun and the eagle are gold, like sunlight on the steppe.

At the centre of the emblem is the shanyrak, the round crown at the top of a yurt that stands for home; on both sides are tulpars, winged horses.

This is the bird on the flag. Hunting with eagles, sayatshylyq, is an old Kazakh tradition, and eagle hunters still keep it alive today.

Soyuz leaves from Baikonur and comes back under an orange-and-white parachute onto the steppe near Zhezkazgan. Going up and coming down, both happen on our land.
Kazakhstan in space: the history
Take a can-sized satellite apart, look at every subsystem, then fly it from release to landing with real physics.

A 3D globe: from Almaty to Texas, Xinjiang, Tashkent and Baku.

Find the Sun in our galaxy, then fly into the Solar System to see every planet and Voyager.
Students at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University built Al-Farabi-1 and Al-Farabi-2. I study there, and this site was made there too.
Only the country is counted, worked out from the IP address. Nothing else is stored.
Every star here was lit by someone who came to this site. Tap a star to read its message, or light your own.
Third-year space engineering student. I’ve built a CanSat, done Work & Travel in Texas and visited NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. My latest stop was Baku, on the Caspian shore, with Aktau just across the water.
If you’re getting ready for that day too, leave me a message.
